I made two local edits for "concerts." Since both time edits count seconds, which are irrelevant for concert starting times. I invented "HRMIN." "830" becomes "8:30" automatically. "DAY" changes "M" or "m" to "mon," "T" or "t" or "tu" to "tue." etc.

Figure 3 shows the local "Edit Dictionary" for "concerts." T' edits could have just as easily been added to the list of global edits and thereby be available for all files. The letters and punctuation marks are all part of the syntax used to define an edit. They form a concise and powerful "language," which we'll explore in a future article.
